I live in Orillia with my wife, Julia, and we have two daughters, a son, and two granddaughters.

My grandfather, Samuel Booth, painted so I grew up with his revered work all around me. I was in the Art Gallery of Ontario Scholarship class while I was in high school and did a degree in architecture at the University of Waterloo. I obtained art teacher credentials as the University of Calgary. I retired from the Simcoe County District School Board as a vice principal. I am also a retired Canadian Armed Forces officer, proud to have served in the 14 Calgary Service Battalion, Medical Company.
I always regret never having the opportunity to paint with my grandfather. I am making up for this loss by painting with my young granddaughters who both show a lot of interest and energy in doing art that usually leaves me happily exhausted. I believe my best work lies ahead of me and I can’t wait to see what my classes will teach me next.
